iTunesU
iTunesU is a hosting and delivery platform that is user-friendly and familiar to students. Course content in iTunesU can be accessed from multiple devices including computers, MP3 players and other portable electronic devices.
Use the University of Montana's iTunesU accounts to:
- share podcasts (MP3 files) and screencasts (MP4 files) and
- customize for each course section.
To view UM's iTunesU, login at (http://login.umt.edu) and then click on the iTunesU icon. The public iTunesU offerings are visible. Professors can also request class accounts so that students see class specific areas when they enter iTunesU and provide iTunesU audio and video casts through links in Blackboard, email or web pages.
Students
There is no requirement to view public files in UM's iTunesU. The only requirements for class-related participation in UM's iTunesU is:
- a seat in the course,
- a NetID, and
- an local install of iTunes.
To view the audio and video casts associated with your course(s), login (http://login.umt.edu) and click on the iTunesU icon. In addition, professors may provide links to recordings in Moodle or other course web pages.
Faculty
Faculty members are required to have a NetID and an iTunesU course page to update and manage iTunesU content. To request an iTunesU course page, please fill out and submit the online iTunesU / Interactive Media Account Request form. Faculty members may edit course page information, upload and manage iTunesU files or create links to their iTunesU pages in Moodle.
