Eddy Buildings Demolition

Houses at 724 and 730 Eddy are being demolished to make way for construction of steam tunnel. Demolition of these houses will mean occupants will need to move to new location and will require new communication services.

Steam Tunnel Construction

Expanded steam tunnel complex will provide heating and other utilities to campus buildings that are now isolated from current tunnels. It will also provide secure, manageable routes for our infrastructure and a new route for some of our at-risk direct buried cables both fiber and copper.

Telephone Services Reorganization

Effective 7/1/07, Telecommunication Services will become an 8-5 Mon – Fri department. Non-telecommunications duties will be transferred to the appropriate departments (Public Safety, Facilities Services). 6 dispatchers will go to the Office of Public Safety. Other duties (keys, motor pool, building receptionist) will be transferred to Facility Services.

Windows Vista Key Management Service

Microsoft has employed the use of a Key Management Service to identify and manage the licensing activation and validation for desktops for its new Windows Vista operating system. Information Technology needs to provide a server and service to accommodate this new requirement.
