Enterprise Information Systems (Banner) Projects Affiliates Access (completed)
Jan Pruyn/Mac McComas, project leaders Modify the Banner system for better management of granting/maintaining electronic access privileges for Faculty Affiliates and Non-Faculty Affiliates. This will involve creating a Banner Affiliates Table of data, modifying Cyberbear to allow Affiliates to maintain their Personal Information on Banner, and modifying the feed to the OID (Directory Services database) to select Affiliates based on data stored in the new Affiliates Table.

These interim releases are needed to correct problems in current releases and to provide new functionality in some areas. John Thunstrom, project leader Banner's mid-term grading functionality will be used to identify and notify students in 100- and 200-level courses who are performing poorly after three weeks of the semester. Enhanced Business Practices - Check Writing John Thunstrom/Karen Hunt, project leaders Review process for writing checks for Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Student Refunds to assess potential solutions for in-house check writing and electronic disbursements. The original problem arose from the realization that the current hardware used for writing student refund checks is rapidly reaching the end of its life cycle. The solution includes potentially purchasing new hardware/software to increase the ability of the University to write its own Payroll and Accounts Payable checks in addition to Student Refunds, and to deliver money to all stakeholders electronically if they desire. Enhanced Business Practices - Check Writing Phase II We have purchased an eVisions software solution for writing Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Student refunds for the UM – Missoula campus as Phase I of this project. Phase II has the task of using the product and hardware we have purchased to enable us to print student refund checks for the three affiliated campuses, which are currently relying on the antiquated printer. Pandemic Planning Address Request Mike Jensen/John Thunstrom, project leaders The Pandemic Flu Planning Committee has been tasked with readying The University of Montana for an imminent bird flu crisis. As part of the planning, the committee has determined that the need for correct address and contact information is of the utmost importance. In order to have as accurate and up to date information as possible, they have requested a modification to the Cyberbear web product that will force the student to give information before being allowed to register. Query Dashboard Extract from Banner Jan Pruyn / Ron Righter, project leaders Development of a data dashboard for use in sending targeted messages via the OneStop messaging system. Users will be able to check criteria on the dashboard identifying individuals to whom such messages are to be sent.
