Central IT Strategic Directions

January, 2009

Central IT's strategic mission is to support the core strategic directions of the University as an academic-oriented business. Central IT's specific strategic mandate is to support and evolve the four broad IT infrastructure areas outlined below, as well as those specific systems and areas identified by the University which fall into each of these areas.

Enterprise Information System Infrastructure required for the University to operate as an academic entity, specifically Banner and Identity Management facilities which are used to control access to resources, electronic and otherwise.

Networking Infrastructure and Services, including on-campus, campus/campus, and campus/world, required to support access to Banner and identity management facilities, as well as a wide range of application, general communication, and educational delivery systems.

Electronic Application Systems Infrastructure required to support academic and business missions (e.g., telephone, Web, email, messaging).

Classroom and Instructional Technology Support Infrastructure required to support instructional delivery.
