Guest wireless access
UM provides a courtesy guest wireless network for campus visitors. The network uses open, unencrypted transmission, so it should not be used to send or receive sensitive information.
How to access guest wireless
- View available wireless networks and select "grizzlyguest"
- Open a web browser. You should be redirected to a Guest User login page
- Enter your email address and click on the "I accept" button
UM students and employees should use the secure "UMwpa" wireless network for all network activity.
For visitors who need secure wireless access
Visitors who will be on campus for an extended time and require secure wireless access must be sponsored by an official UM department. The sponsoring department should complete a Sponsored Visitor Wireless Access Request Form at least two weeks in advance of the desired start date. The sponsor will be notified of the visitor's wireless user name and password via e-mail.
WPA2 Enterprise is available for connecting the University's wireless network. WPA2 Enterprise is available internally on newer laptops and other devices. Configuration Instructions
