The Montana Virtual Academy seeks an energetic, creative problem-solver with strong organizational and communication skills to work collaboratively within a team environment in a new digital educational enterprise.
Under the general supervision of the MVA Director, the Curriculum Specialist provides expertise and leadership related to instructional design and curriculum development.
This position includes fluency in a range of information, communication, and learning technologies.
The Curriculum Specialist will:
Supervise and train assigned staff
Evaluate appropriate educational software to augment class content
Motivate and inspire teachers to enhance instruction
Conduct needs analysis at the course and program levels
Represent MVA to other constituencies across the State
Note: This position is a one-year professional contract with possibility of renewal. Continuation of the position is contingent on funding.

Master's degree in education, instructional technology or related field
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication
Demonstrated leadership and manage skills
Prior online teaching experience Experience in developing and supporting K-12 curricula
Proficient in major software and hardware applications relevant to online learning

The mission of the Montana Virtual Academy is to provide Montana K-12 students equitable access to high-quality, innovative, online instruction. The state of Montana, through a partnership of school districts and the University of Montana, Missoula, will ensure Montana's children are prepared for a globally competitive, 21st century environment. The initial year of MVA will emphasize high school core subject credit-recovery under the Montana accreditation and education standards; AP, dual credit, and enrichment coursework is planned for the future.
