The Network/Computer System Administrator II will report to, and work under the general supervision of the BMC Technical Director. Position is responsible for Microsoft, LINUX and broadcast equipment embedded-systems network administration in broadcast and production private networks, and campus network environment, which requires building and installing Windows and LINUX servers. Duties include, but are not limited to: installing and maintaining Windows Desktops; performing OU Active Directory administration; completing server and desktop maintenance and upgrades; conducting hardware and software testing; implementing virus and other security measures; serving as project implementation leader, developer, and team member; supporting personnel with standard office automation software and web publishing, and ongoing testing and support of new applications; supporting software and IT aspects of all other mission-critical hardware; assisting with advanced systems troubleshooting; researching technical trends and new product developments; recommending new technology and coordinating their deployment; providing end-user training; acting as the first point of contact for IT communication and coordination of tasks and projects among users, supervisors, co-workers; collaborating and assisting with supervising student staff members; collaborating with Technical Director to analyze needs and develop, implement, and maintain a secure and productive working environment; hiring, training, supervising and evaluating student support staff.

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field and three (3) years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

| Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities |
|
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and 2007 operating systems functions related to desktop and server operations
Demonstrated knowledge of LINUX/UNIX operating systems functions related to server operations
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems for hardware and software
Familiarity with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routers/Switches, and network services
Effective professional customer service, interpersonal, and oral communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
Ability to understand business problems/needs and develop programming solutions
Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and work with users and technical staff to correct problems
