Primary Functions

  • Position supports the MBA programs and the MBA Director in the School of Business Administration (SoBA). Position also serves as the primary contact for the SoBA graduate programs. Duties include, but are not limited to: supervising student employees on an occasional basis; communicating with prospective and current students, faculty, and administration; referring inquiries to the appropriate information resource; managing student data and associated processes such as admission, active status, graduation and alumni status; ensuring accuracy; preparing reports for internal and external customers, for example survey reports, data reports for committee and Director, course evaluation reports for MBA instructors; writing, organizing, and presenting information clearly and effectively in all SoBA communications; performing data analysis and interpretation; assisting with and/or creating marketing materials and maintaining website to establish attractive, professional, well-written, and current materials; scheduling of appointments with the Director and scheduling/coordinating MBA events; managing time and projects appropriately while exhibiting excellent team work; and performing preliminary advising and transcript evaluation

  • Position will demonstrate: timely management of communications and processes; high degree of initiative in performing the duties of the position, as well as a high degree of independence; excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and listening to audiences appropriately; excellent customer service, including resourcefulness; quality interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization; attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Banner, Publisher, PageMaker, various web applications and PowerPoint; creativity and flexibility
  • Minimum Job Qualifications

  • High school graduation and two to three (2 - 3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Effective public relations, interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse group of individuals
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills and ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to operate personal computers, website management, related word processing, spreadsheet and database software – a computer exercise (Word and Excel) will be given at the time of interview
  • Ability to maintain a consistently professional, personable demeanor
  • Demonstrated skill in fast, accurate keyboarding, proofreading and editing
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule meetings and events
  • Demonstrated ability to write, edit and lay out documents and materials in a variety of formats suitable for the intended audience
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to operate standard office equipment: printers, copiers, fax machine, multi-line phone system
