Position provides support to the facilities services and all aspects of the campus while performing work orders and assignments and providing the appropriate equipment and materials to those assignments. Duties include, but are not limited to: providing office support in the event of moving offices; supplying proper equipment for office moves; providing the appropriate equipment to the various work orders as assigned; operation all snow removal equipment on campus; performing maintenance on all operating equipment; gathering and supplying proper tools and equipment for various jobs; instructing and guiding the support efforts of all part-time workers; supporting proper work ethics; instructing and providing ideas as to how to safely and efficiently move equipment; performing building, grounds, and construction maintenance; performing concrete work on sidewalks and stairs; tuck pointing, removing walls, and doing miscellaneous tile work; constructing block walls; performing asphalt work; assisting with public safety and special events such as concerts and sporting events; performing special tasks as needed
Position will demonstrate: knowledge and skill to supply proper tools, equipment and materials safely; knowledge of safe lifting and moving techniques; knowledge of concrete and asphalt techniques; ability to provide guidance and leadership to instruct, and review daily work assignments of part-time employees; ability to work without supervision and complete assigned tasks in an efficient and safe manner; ability to safely operate equipment and vehicles such as snow plows, loaders, forklifts, street sweepers, and graders (an equipment operation exercise will be given at the time of interview); ability to maintain effective working relationships; ability to learn and follow related department and University of Montana practices and procedures; ability to obtain Asbestos certification if necessary

| Minimum Job Qualifications |

High school graduation and two (2) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
|

| Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities |
|
Knowledge of and/or experience in the cement and masonry trade
Knowledge of the care and use of related tools and equipment. An equipment operation exercise will be given at the time of interview.
Ability to learn and follow safety policies and procedures and rules and regulations; ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to instruct and lead the work of others
Effective communication skills with the ability to create and maintain effective working relationships
Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Montana Driver’s License
Must have the ability to possess a CDL License within 6 months of hire date

Must be able to perform constant physical activity: Lifting: Ground to 60 inches, up to 75#. Ground to 36 inches, up to 100#; Carrying: Front carry up to 120# for 10 feet or less; Pushing and pulling forces, up to 200# required (during the use of tools): 100# sustained; Bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching with your body, arms, and/or legs in all directions; repetitive squatting on both even and uneven surfaces; Static forward bending from a standing, crouching or kneeling position while using tools; Reaching with your arms in all directions; Working overhead from various positions (standing, squatting, and on knees); Truck rotation from a standing position; Balancing when climbing and working on a ladder or scaffold; Walking various distances throughout the day on even and uneven surfaces, distances up to 1000 feet; Use of manual and finger dexterity to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects; Use of various grip circumferences and strengths as well as static grip positions during the use of various tools (4 1/2" to 5 1/2" circumference needing an average of 50# of grip force) and while manipulating various work materials (maximum 100#); Use of foot controls and hand controls to drive and operate light and heavy machinery, capable of working with chemicals, dust, fumes, and odors. A Physical Screen will be administered prior to a final offer of employment.
