Position produces broadcast-quality video productions for clients of the Broadcast Media Center. Position also manages the non-linear video editing assets of the Broadcast Media Center (BMC) by performing front-line maintenance, system analysis and troubleshooting. Duties include, but are not limited to: serving as the primary contact for clients; conceptualizing project parameters; analyzing technical resources and personnel requirements; negotiating project contracts (with final approval from supervisor); tracking billable hours and resource use; following up on client satisfaction and monitoring production budgets and schedules; organizing and directing all phases of studio or field production process; serving as videographer and/or editor of projects; participating in evaluation of projects; assisting in the training of student assistants and coordinating their activities during the production process; performing daily analysis of computer-based editing resources of the BMC, installing updates and resolving configuration/performance issues; operating a wide range of complex television and audio production equipment and recommend new product purchases and applications
Position will demonstrate: knowledge of video production techniques with the ability to finalize concept issues to satisfy client goals; extensive knowledge of Avid non-linear editing systems with the ability to perform server maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of system updates; knowledge of training and supervisory practices and procedures; skills in the areas of video production which includes shooting, lighting, audio capture, non-linear editing, color correction, post-production finishing and output, file management, video and photo manipulation software and hardware, and DVD authoring and duplication; ability to recruit and manage talent; knowledge of and demonstrated skills with graphic video and photo software, video servers, router, production switcher, character generator, and multi-point communications systems; ability to track multiple coincidental projects and adhere to negotiated production schedules; knowledge of the Board of Regents restrictions concerning competition with private sector; ability to research potential clients and establish personal relationships

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
Bachelors Degree in Radio/TV, Journalism or related field and three (3) year related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
|

|
Excellent interpersonal skills including writing, speaking and public presentations as well as the ability to create and maintain professional working relationships
Demonstrated skill in the areas of video production, post-production finishing and compilation
Knowledge of Avid non-linear editing systems
Demonstrated skills with graphic video and photo software, video servers, router, productions switcher, character generator, and multi-point communications systems
Knowledge of best-business practices to ensure accurate and timely accounting of time, resources and personnel
Demonstrated organizational, time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
