Position edits video for documentary films, educational DVD’s, and websites using interview tapes, b-roll, and acquired music. Position also assists in course development for the online course offerings, making selections appropriate to the topic and providing files for use on the site. May also participate in product development planning, equipment care and supply needs, media management, inventory maintenance, and back-up systems maintenance. Duties included, but are not limited to: digitizing, editing and outputting video clips from NPS videotapes of Native American presentations during the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial; organizing and managing videotape library and all related data and information; assisting with overall work of Regional Learning Project; providing technical computer and video advice for the Regional Learning Project; supervising assistant video editor; assuming responsibility for all aspects of video production for the Regional Learning Project; assisting in product development planning by recommending footage selections and creating the final product; performing general office support; assessing and coordinating equipment maintenance and supply needs; maintaining inventory and the back-up for the video portion of the projects; presenting and marketing fi8lms and educational materials at conferences and workshops; assisting with grant proposals by writing the draft proposal and submitting final proposal to Sponsor; position for part-time work is provided through a grant through May, 2010, with possibility for extension
Position will demonstrate: comprehensive knowledge of Final Cut Pro and ability to export and import files with different formats into the final product; experience exporting streaming video in various file formats for various projects; knowledge of Native American History and Culture; ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects; project and personnel management experience; ability to use judgment to identify and resolve routine problems; knowledge of the transcript film library; experience exporting streaming video for web site; ability to organize and maintain office supply inventory and coordinate routine equipment maintenance; knowledge and experience with video back-up systems; ability to make presentations in front of large groups of people; ability to do research and draft effective grant proposals; recording, interviewing, writing, and digital audio editing skills; knowledge of journalism ethics and standards of objectivity, fairness, and balance; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to research and comprehend complex issues and translate them into clear concise news reports for broadcast; ability to train and supervise students in their reporting skills and provide appropriate guidance; ability to maintain a professional demeanor and behavior with the ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals

| Minimum Job Qualifications |
|
Bachelors Degree in Radio/TV, Journalism or related field and one (1) year related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Demonstrated knowledge of journalism ethics and standards of objectivity, fairness, and balance
Demonstrated knowledge of professional office practices and procedures; business English, spelling, composition, and grammar, including the ability to edit materials
Demonstrated skill in the operation of personal computers and related word processing software with the ability to learn new software (Including but not limited to: professional software for digital audio, editing, digital recording and on-line transmittal of audio files)
Demonstrated organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills and ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail
Effective, public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills
Knowledge of and ability to work with diverse group of individuals, specifically Native American tribes in Montana, while maintaining a personable and professional demeanor
Demonstrated skill and experience in recording, interviewing, digital audio editing and researching with the ability to translate information into clear and concise news reports for broadcast
