Peet's first love was photojournalism, but in the course of earning his photojournalism degree from the University of Montana he discovered another talent, systems administration. It wasn't a simple decision for Peet to hang up his camera for a career in IT, but in true tech geek fashion he realized that the problem solving in managing and design network systems is just as satisfying as shooting pictures.

Peet was born in Salmon, Idaho, and was graduated from Pocatello High School. He became a Montana resident in 1998 and began attending the University of Montana. In 2002 he graduated with a B.A. in journalism with an emphasis in photography and a minor in media arts.
