2. Do you offer scholarships for
freshmen or transfer students?
While the School of Journalism offers $80,000 a year in scholarships,
nearly all go to students already enrolled in the school. Criteria
for awarding scholarships are established by the donors, and most
have restricted their donations to students who have demonstrated
a commitment to journalism as a career and whose potential is
evidenced by success in our rigorous professional program. However,
one donor has established a significant scholarship for an incoming
freshman from Anaconda, Mont.
The University of Montana has many scholarships for freshmen.
These include general scholarships and Presidential Leadership
Scholarships.
