The Montana FOI Hotline

The Montana Freedom of Information Hotline was created in 1988 to help Montanans gain access to information from public agencies.

USING THE HOTLINE

Montanans facing a problem regarding open meetings, open court proceedings, or access to public information or records may use the services of the Hotline at no charge.

The Hotline works with attorneys Mike Meloy and Robin McGuire from the Meloy Law Firm of Helena. Inquiries from news organizations should be made with the prior authorization of management, except in cases of emergency where immediate advice is needed.

Members of the public should consult with their local news media before calling the Hotline.

To contact The Montana FOI Hotline,
call 406-442-8670.
