Kathryn Stevens was born in Portland, Ore., in 1980. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., in 2002. Stevens spent one year working for The Spokesman-Review in the photography department in 2002 and 2003 before moving to Missoula to begin work on her master’s in photojournalism in September of 2003. Stevens has traveled to many countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. She hopes to one day teach photojournalism in the United States and abroad.
