I came to Montana for the J-School, but the truth is, I was relieved that my transition from Alaska, where I spent the first 17 years of my life, might be a little easier in another state full of trails and mountains and small towns. Missoula seemed like the big city at first, but I suppose I’m getting used to it. Not seeing the ocean is a different story.
Four years later…I’m 20 years old and when being a journalism student doesn’t fill up all of my time, I take classes for my other major in Russian language and literature. I also work as a copy editor for the Kaimin and as a habilitation assistant in a group home for people with disabilities.
And after school and work have sucked all the time out of my life that they want, I like to play piano, hike to a hot spring, read and take my dog to the Rattlesnake Wilderness Area – which I live next to.
I have a weakness for Sudoku puzzles, and dislike crossword puzzles. I prefer seafood above all things, except chocolate. I think wicker is a terrible thing, along with Wal-Mart, Abercrombie & Fitch, and any kind of schnapps.
