Whitney Bermes, Reporter

Whitney Bermes is a junior majoring in print journalism at the University of Montana. A born-and-raised Missoula girl, she long dreamed of being a part of journalism school. The move to Don Anderson Hall has been icing on the cake and she says and she is enjoying every moment in the fabulous new building.

Bermes took a break from the Missoula valley in 2007 when she spent the semester at the Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. At UNA, she worked for The Lumberjack, the school newspaper, covering sports.

Off campus, Bermes calls herself the Quasimodo of Mountain Press Publishing, where she works, furiously shipping hundreds of books a day out of the Missoula warehouse. To unwind, Bermes makes it to the gym as often as possible to play basketball, racquetball or any other sport that comes her way.  She enjoys watching sports, playing with her cat Jordan, reading a good book, drinking tea and taking pictures.

After graduating she hopes to find a job on a smaller newspaper somewhere outside of Montana. She hopes to use all the skills she’s acquired at this school to make her mark on the journalism world.

Her quote to live by: “Go Pack go!”
