Dr. Cyndi Wood, a Missoula veterinarian, removes a tumor from Barron, a German short-haired pointer, at the Five Valleys Veterinary Clinic off Reserve Street. Wood has been practicing veterinary medicine for the past 17 years, a field she entered due to her love of animals. "There's a lot to be said for the compassion part of this job," she says.
