Community
News Service class visits Helena reporters
Half a dozen reporters in the J-School's Community News Service
class took a recent Friday to bus to Helena where they met capital
reporters and enjoyed a public records tour. Amidst the education,
the students ate lunch at a local restaurant called Windbag that
is popular among local politicians. Community News Service reporters
have spent the semester writing stories of statewide interest;
their work has been published by more than two dozen Montana newspapers.

Guest
speakers abound at School of Journalism
Journalism professionals walk these halls. Among those giving
their time to help inspire and educate students were a news anchor
from Spokane's NBC station, a foreign correspondent with the Denver
Post, and a Web editor for the Spokesman-Review's online site.
