Lacey Anne Hawkins was born and raised in Missoula, Mont. Growing up she always enjoyed writing, especially short stories and poetry. In high school, she worked on the newspaper staff, and journalism became her true passion.
With the convenience of a well-established journalism school at home and a four-year scholarship, Lacey decided to attend the University of Montana.
Lacey is currently a senior emphasizing in print journalism. Since studying at the J-School, she has decided that designing is her true interest and fuels this passion by working as a graphic design assistant for the Bureau of Business and Economic Research. She hopes to use her designing skills in an internship in Ireland next summer.
Lacey is also studying for a minor in French. This past summer she traveled in Europe with a friend and fell in love with the different cultures.
After graduating, Lacey intends to spend a year in France teaching English. She then plans to go back to school for her master’s in hopes of one day designing for a magazine.
In her free time, Lacey likes to be with her family and friends. She also enjoys music, reading, watching movies, photography and playing board games.
