My name is Jesse Nation-Ames, and I moved to Missoula in the hectic summer of 2000, which saw both forest fires and riots associated with a visit by the Hells Angels. After the smoke and tear gas cleared I quickly took to the hills. Having spent four years as a ski bum in Utah, my first criteria for a college was a good ski hill nearby — oh and a good J-school, too. I’m a junior in the print journalism program, an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and I make a living building custom furniture. My minor is in political science and I hope to use this to further my reporting.
