I am a junior at the University of Montana majoring in print journalism.

I consider myself to be a writer at heart, so I was pleased to find that journalism was a good fit for me.

I spent the past summer living and working as a reporting intern at the Argus Leader newspaper in Sioux Falls, S.D. Prior to my internship I participated in the American Indian Journalism Institute in Vermillion, S.D.

I have an action-packed schedule during the year, which includes school, freelance writing for reznetnews.org, music directing and spinning tunes at KBGA College Radio, and working as a barista and cashier extraordinaire at the UC Market on campus.

I hope to write for a newspaper, magazine, or Web site in “the big city” or anywhere that isn’t Montana. The sight of the mountains does, however, tug at my heartstrings and chances are I’ll be back one day.
