LAW 675
2 credits

Professor Anthony Johnstone

This course has two principal goals. One is for students to learn the substantive law of the First Amendment – the Establishment and Free Exercise of Religion Clauses, and the Freedom of Speech, Press, Assembly, and Petition Clauses.  The other is to enhance students’ ability to create and critically analyze constitutional arguments, both orally and in writing.  Students will learn how to use various tools, including those based on constitutional text, history, stare decisis, and policy.
