| Patent Prosecution is the process by which a patent application describing an invention is examined by the United States Patent and Trademark Office to determine if the invention is eligible for patent grant. Students will be introduced to patent prosecution by preparing a patent application, writing its claims, and responding to an Office Action. Through participating in this process, students will come to understand Patent Office procedures and the scope and purpose of a patent.
