WORKERS' COMPENSATION
LAW 662 3 credits |
David J. Patterson |
| The student explores employment related injury and occupational disease reparation systems. Basic Workers' Compensation substantive and procedural law is covered during the first part of the semester on a relatively intensive basis. This part of the course is singularly enhanced in that Professor Patterson regularly participates in injury reparations reform efforts and periodically serves as Workers' Compensation Hearing Examiner. The second half is devoted to actual Workers' Compensation practice presentations by claimant's lawyer, insurance lawyer, Workers' Compensation Division administrator, and the Workers' Compensation Judge. Evaluation is based on class participation, preparation of a case for decision, and a final examination. |
