WORKERS' COMPENSATION
LAW 662
3 credits

Professor Brad Luck

The student explores employment related injury and occupational disease reparation systems, with a focus on Montana law.  The course will focus on a dissection of the Montana Workers’ Compensation Act with specific consideration of applicable Montana Workers’ Compensation Court and Montana Supreme Court interpretations.  Special attention will be given to the actual handling and defense of workers’ compensation and occupational disease claims in Montana and the consideration of claim handling responsibilities under the Montana Unfair Trade Practices Act.  Selected leaders in the field will be asked to provide the class their special insight into the practice of workers’ compensation law in Montana and the students will be given the opportunity to witness different aspects of the handling of litigated claims.
