A clinical student assigned to the Child Support Enforcement Division of the Department of Public Health and Human Services will be exposed to the various roles performed by an attorney for a state agency. This may include attending administrative hearings, attending and participating in contested district court matters, drafting proposed legislation, determining compliance with Federal and State statutes and regulations, preparing modifications of child support for approval by the District Court, interpretation of case law, and drafting of responses to petitions. This clinic is valuable experience to any student who wishes to work for an agency of the State of Montana.
