Professor Corbett teaches Alternative Dispute Resolution, Administrative Law, Employment Law, Federal Courts, and Negotiations.

To his students, Professor Corbett brings a wealth of practice experience. He is an arbitrator and mediator and formerly a trial attorney with the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C. (Appellate Court Division of General Counsel) and Legal Counsel to a U.S. Senator. He is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators.

A native of Wyoming, Professor Corbett obtained a J.D. degree from the University of Wyoming School of Law and LL.M. from Harvard University School of Law. He joined The University of Montana School of Law in 1976. He is the recipient of two Fulbright fellowships to teach US style dispute resolution emphasizing alternatives to trial, in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Professor Corbett and his wife have three children (a daughter and her husband are graduates of the UM Law School), they both ride motorcycles, and Professor Corbett is a member of the world's 17th greatest blues band, "Treated & Released." (You can hear the band at any one of a number of Missoula's finest watering holes.)

Professor Corbett's most recent publication is Resolving Employee Discharge Disputes Under the Montana Wrongful Discharge Act (MWDA), Discharge Claims Arising Apart From the MWDA, and Practice and Procedure Issues in the Context of a Discharge Case, 65 Mont. L. Rev. 100 (2005).
