Teaching with Technology
Classrooms are evolving rapidly. University systems now commonly integrate classroom and information technology into the learning space. Wirelessconnectivity allows students to research issues during class. Students now routinely review and submit course information and contact professors online. The classroom itself has become a technological epicenter that allows students to view court proceedings and allows lecturers to visit via videoconferencing.Students now have the ability to repeat lectures by accessing streaming audio and video online. Some professors now require students to prepare videopresentations. Faculty may now review such student projects on class webpages and need not handle multiple types of video media.
Here are some suggestions for possible information technology integration into your classroom discussions, research, and coursework:
Tablet PCs -OneNote- Video Conferencing - Podcasting - Blackboard - PowerPoint
Meeting Room Manager
Meeting Room Manager
Faculty and student groups have access to Meeting Room Manager (MRM). MRM is a web-based room scheduling software that allows members of the UM Law School Community to schedule all aspects of classes, meetings, and special events in one operation. This comprehensive scheduling tool provides photos and seating charts for each classroom and allows users to specify seating arrangements, classroom technology requirements, and catering requirements. It also provides automatic email notification of room reservations and allows faculty, staff, and student organizations to view current room schedules in various formats and time frames.
