Keynote Speaker
Jenni Lowe-Anker
Jennifer Lowe-Anker is a fourth-generation Montanan and Bozeman-area artist and author. She was married to Alex Lowe, a well-known mountain climber who died tragically in an avalanche in the Himalaya in 1999 that also almost killed his best friend, Conrad Anker. Alex, Jenni and Conrad's story has been featured on Dateline in a story by Tom Brokaw and in the film Endless Knot. Shortly after her husband's death, Jenni Lowe-Anker founded the Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation to "support sustainable, community-based humanitarian programs...in remote regions of the world." Now Jenni Lowe-Anker has written Forget Me Not, a tribute to her husband and memoir of her life with Alex and her life after his death. Since Forget Me Not was published in May, 2008, Lowe-Anker has received invitations to speak across the country and recently had the opportunity to share here story in a presentation to the National Geographic Society; she will share the same story with us.
