The School of Law is proud to announce that Robert S. Bennett received an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree from The University of Montana on Saturday, May 15, 2010.

Mr. Bennett served as a member of the School of Law Board of Visitors for three years and is the founder of the prestigious Judge William B. Jones and Judge Edward A. Tamm Judicial Lecture Series. He has been instrumental in recruiting lecturers and leading the fundraising to support the Jones Tamm lecture series. The series has brought many distinguished lecturers including the Chief Justice of the United States John G. Roberts, Jr., four other Supreme Court Justices, the Solicitor General of the United States and the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Robert S. Bennett is renowned in his field as an exceptional trial lawyer who has tried numerous high-profile cases and has represented corporations and individuals, including directors and officers, in criminal, civil, SEC enforcement and congressional matters for the past 35 years. He is a partner in the Hogan Lovells firm in their Washington, D.C., office.

Bennett is also the author of In The Ring: The Trials of a Washington Lawyer.
