Professor Gagliardi Elected as Fellow to ACTC
Professor Elaine Gagliardi was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel, known as the ACTC, at the College’s 2015 Annual Meeting. This is an honor bestowed on no more than 700 tax lawyers nationwide. Professor Gagliardi is the only member currently elected from Montana.
The ACTC reserves membership for those tax lawyers and professors who demonstrate “extraordinary accomplishments and professional achievements” and who are dedicated to improving the practice of tax law. Fellows must be nominated by their peers for this honor, and pass a rigorous screening process to become a Fellow.
The ACTC is a non-profit corporation with the purpose of improving the practice of tax law. Specifically, its focus is:
- To foster excellence and to elevate professional standards in the practice of tax law;
- To stimulate skills development and knowledge through participation in continuing legal education programs and seminars;
- To provide for input by the tax bar into the development of tax laws; and
- To facilitate the scholarly discussion and examination of tax policy issues.
