This competition, sponsored by the American Bar Association Law Student Division, is designed to have competitors learn and employ interest-based negotiation principles, focusing on interests, not positions. The UM team is coached by Klaus Sitte, Executive Director of Montana Legal Services Association and an adjunct faculty member.
Team members are selected during a competitive process. The team faculty advisors petition the faculty for one to two credits. Once credit is granted, team members must retroactively add the course. Students selected for the Negotiation Team register fall semester in Law 642. Students receiving credit for the Negotiation competition may not also register and receive credit for the Negotiations course. |
