The University of Montana Linguistics Program
The central goal in linguistics is to study, understand, and describe the details of individual languages: the sounds used by individual languages and the make-up of words, phrases and sentences.
The Linguist List is dedicated to providing information on language and language analysis, and to providing the discipline of linguistics with the infrastructure necessary to function in the digital world. Linguist is a free resource, run by linguistics professors and graduate students, and supported primarily by your donations.
The Linguistic Society of America (LSA) was founded in 1924 to advance the scientific study of language. Linguistics has developed dramatically in the intervening years, greatly expanding the understanding of human language.
Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
TESOL's mission is to develop and maintain professional expertise in English language teaching and learning for speakers of other languages worldwide.
Linguistics in SIL focuses on researching undocumented minority languages, training field linguists, and providing resources to assist in linguistic data collection and analysis.
