November 18, 2019 @ 6 PM
University Center Room 330
The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center at UM will host this community conversation on China. The public is invited to participate in vigorous table talk discussions on such topics as trade, politics, human rights, aging and education.
The Mansfield Center will join the National Council on U.S. China Relations for the national CHINA Town Hall event that will feature a webcast discussion moderated by ABC News’ chief anchor George Stephanopolous. Following the national webcast, the evening will feature eight table-based discussions with local experts on a variety of topics, including the U.S.-China Trade War, Education in China, and the continuing protests in Hong Kong.
Interim Executive Director Deena Mansour noted, “UM is a statewide leader in developing international education opportunities for our community. Given the critical national security importance of China to the U.S., we are honored to host a conversation on China that features nationwide access and local expertise.”
CHINA Town Hall is a national conversation on China taking place in more than 100 venues across the country. The National Committee on U.S.-China Relations is the leading national, non-partisan public affairs organization devoted exclusively to building constructive and durable relationships between the U.S. and China.

While free and open to the public, RSVPs to firstname.lastname@example.org are requested for those who wish to select their specific table discussion. Given the hour, heavy appetizers also will be served.
