Innovation & Imagination in Global Health
2016 Mansfield Conference
Innovation and Imagination in Global Health, the 2016 Mansfield Conference, was a day-long event on April 12, 2016 in the University Center Ballroom at the University of Montana with conversations and presentations examining how new technology, new ideas, and new challenges are changing the nature of health care and how we view health both at home and across the world.
Local and international speakers covered a broad range of topics from delivery systems, to big data, to human behavior and environmental factors in health. These experts looked at important questions including, How do we care for an aging population? What does emergency preparedness look like for natural disasters and pandemics? What innovations are changing mental health care? and How do culture and place impact our health?
Innovation and Imagination in Global Health was part of the University of Montana's Ix5 Week, from April 11-15, a week-long celebration of today's and tomorrow’s innovators from UM and beyond. The week featured four discrete conferences, including Innovation and Imagination in Global Public Health, InnovateUM, GradCon and the GradExpo, and the Undergraduate Research Conference.
