Legal Atlas Innovating for Justice
Legal Atlas is still young, but it has already gained international attention. Capping the first year of development in November 2012, The Hague Institute for the Internationalization of Law recognized Legal Atlas as the world’s most innovative idea promoting justice worldwide.
The award is based on three main innovations applied to the understanding of law: 1) an innovation in information architecture, 2) the use of maps, GIS technologies, and visual analytics to visually represent Law, and 3) the inclusion of legal and non-legal specialists within multi-disciplinary research teams.
The three main innovations of Legal Atlas are all born from the primary desire to build a resource for everyone that gives us an efficient way to access and see how legal systems are structured and how they affect the world we live in.
