Forensic Scientist California Department of Justice Montana Department of Justice “Forensic DNA Probabilities” Forensic DNA profiling has become a powerful and highly discriminating tool for identifying sources of biological material deposited during the commission of crimes. The degree of discrimination has reached a point to where the F.B.I. will identify, to a scientific certainty, the source of the biological material. This talk will review the history of forensic statistics, the formula commonly used in single source material analysis, and other situations where statistics are used in forensic DNA analysis.
