An introduction to the general meaning of Correlation will be given. An example out of Newsweek magazine illustrates the importance of correlation studies. A specific correlation coefficient, Kendall's Tau, is developed which only requires the idea of a slope of a line segment joining two points. An R program is used for motivation of correlation and simple linear regression for this correlation coefficient. |
