Some thoughts about Correlation and Regression
Rudy Gideon

An introduction to the general meaning of Correlation will be given. An example out of Newsweek magazine illustrates the importance of correlation studies. A specific correlation coefficient, Kendall's Tau, is developed which only requires the idea of a slope of a line segment joining two points. An R program is used for motivation of correlation and simple linear regression for this correlation coefficient.
