Chris Anderson

Fields:  Modern and Postmodern French Fiction, French poetry, popular and regional French literature.

Awards:  National Endowment for the Arts Award Grant for fiction writing, 1979.

Books:  Michel Tournier’s Children: Myth, Intertext, Initiation(New York: Peter Lang) 1998, 145 pages.

Most recent article:  “L’Eau d’ici et l’au-delà: pêche et spiritualité chez Norman Maclean et René Fallet”,  René Fallet, vingt ans après(Paris : Maisonneuve & Larose, 2005) pp. 35-46.

Most recent paper :  “If only it were so : the myth of multiculturalism in Daniel Pennac’s Malaussène saga”.  Cincinnati Conference on Romance Languages and Literatures, May 10-13, 2006.

Current research projects.  I’m working slowly on a book analyzing the uses of myth in Danial Pennac’s fiction.  Most of my presentations at conferences further that project. With another part of my brain I’m writing a novel.
