Heejoo Gwen Kim is an experimental animation filmmaker and new media artist. She graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with MFA in New media arts, School of Art Institute of Chicago with a MFA in film, video, new media and animation, BFA in Art and Technology Studies and Hongik University with BFA in Painting and Drawing. Her films and installations have been internationally presented at the festivals and galleries in Canada, France, Germany, Korea, Hungary, UK, Italy, Ecuador, Bulgaria, Philippines, India, Lebanon, and USA. Her films, Unwearable Functional Garments II and Paramnesia, were nominated for the best animation and best experimental film in Female Eye Film festival. She used to teach at School of Art Institute of Chicago in Art and Technology Studies Department and Contemporary practice Department, and Columbia College Chicago in Interactive Arts and Media Department.
