The newly redesigned Bachelor of Arts program addresses the need for students to acquire a more comprehensive understanding of the application of digital technologies in the arts. It combines the critical elements of the story-driven Digital Filmmaking specialization with the artistic applications of the Integrated Digital Media specialization. This streamlining will better prepare Media Arts students for the constantly evolving technological environment and provide them with a solid overview and stronger foundation in the integrative aspects of media arts.
The application process consists of the following:
Prerequisites
The following core classes (12 credits) must be completed or be in the process of completion before applying to the B.A. program. The courses may be taken in any order at any time. For course descriptions see the Courses section.
MAR 101L Intro to Media Arts - 3 cr.
MAR 102 Digital Technology in the Arts - 3 cr.
MAR 111A Integrated Digital Art - 3 cr.
MAR 111A Integrated Digital Art - 3 cr.
MAR 112A Intro to Non-Linear Editing - 3 cr.
Application
Applications are accepted during spring semester when the core classes are completed or are being completed. Acceptance is based on GPA assessment of core classes, overall University GPA and instructor feedback. Acceptance will be decided at the end of spring semester after all grades have been processed.
