MARCUS COOK

Cook was travelling to France with other American troops aboard the ocean liner Tuscania when it was torpedoed by a German U-Boat in the Northern Channel between Ireland and Scotland, on February 5, 1918. Cook was one of the more than 200 people who died from the attack. He was buried in Scotland.

Below is an account of Cook's death as written by his fraternity brother, O.C. Munson. Munson was also serving aboard the Tuscania. He sent this letter to his fraternity, Sigma Nu. It published the letter in The Delta of Sigma Nu Fraternity, in 1918, along with the accounts of other fraternity members killed in the war.
