Robert Orduño (Gabrie-leño/ Tongva/ Spanish) Listed in Who's Who in American Art. Collections: Heritage Center (Pine Ridge, SD), Great Falls International Airport (Great Falls, MT), Exhibits: National Native Indian Artists Symposium, C.M. Russell Museum (Great Falls, MT), Buffalo Bill Historical Center (Cody, WY). Recipient, Tony Begay Award, Profiled in Southwest Art, and International Fine Art.

Robert Orduño's painting Horse Sense is a light-hearted comment on the Lewis and Clark expedition. Though based on a popular joke, the painting manages to remind the reader that the expedition's success hinged on the contributions of Sacagawea. The horses articulate what remains unspoken by the warriors: Lewis and Clark did not "discover" anything, Native people were already here. Orduño's brushstroke shows bold rhythm and motion and his composition exhibits a mastery of color.
