Cesar Pattein, Doing the Wash, oil on canvas, 1905, 26" x 32 "
Viewers at the November 3, 2006 Opening Reception for Children of the Permanent Collection and Children's Art from the Community |
November 3 - December 23, 2006 This exhibition offers a fascinating look at children in society. Over 55 works by internationally and regionally known artists are on view, including works by Cesar Pattein, Honoré Daumier, Käthe Kollwitz, Henry Meloy, and Beth Lo. These works reveal much about society's ideas and attitudes toward children. |
Children's Art from the Community November 3 - December 23, 2006 While the works from Children of the Permanent Collection involve children portrayed by adults, Children’s Art from the Community showcases artwork created by Lowell elementary school children grades 1, 3 and 5 portraying adults at work, leisure, play. These works, created in workshops lead by UM Professor Bobby Tilton's Elementary Education students are inventive, insightful, and often poetic views on the grown-up world. Read more in the Nov. 12, 2006 Missoulian article. Special Lecture: Susan Swierc, PhD, Clinical and Health Psychologist Special thanks to our sponsors: |
