THE COLLECTORS' ART
This exciting exhibition features works by internationally known Pop artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol and widely acclaimed Montana artists Rudy Autio, Lela Autio, Tu Baixong, Nancy Erickson, and Beth Lo. MMAC is extremely grateful to generous private collectors who are lending works for this spectacular exhibition. The exhibition sheds light on the art of collecting. Meloy Gallery

40 YEARS OF CAMPUS ART AWARDS
This exhibition features student works from the Montana Museum of Art & Culture's Permanent Collection acquired from 1966 through 2006. Paxson Gallery

Utagawa Toyokuni
(Japanese, 1769-1825)

Utagawa Toyokuni was one of the great printmakers of the late 18th century who made himself known by his ukiyo-e (pictures of the floating world) of beautiful women and later of actors. As the head of the Utagawa school he was also the most influential artist on the next generation of ukiyo-e designers.



MMAC RECEIVES NEA FUNDING
MMAC is the proud recipient of a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The grant is to support a MMAC organized national traveling exhibit titled George Longfish - A Retrospective. This exhibit, featuring work spanning the career of contemporary Native American artist George Longfish, will be on view in MMAC's Meloy and Paxson Galleries March 9 - April 20, 2007. It is scheduled to travel to the University of South Dakota in Vermillion; Salish Kootenai College, Pablo, MT; Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art, Great Falls, MT; the Holter Museum of Art, Helena, MT; the South Dakota Art Museum, Brookings; the Museum of the Southwest, Midland, TX; and UNI Gallery of Art, Cedar Falls, IA. The exhibition is available for booking by museums nationwide. The grant will also support the publication of a full color catalog that will accompany the exhibition.
