Collectors Art Exhibition Announcement

THE COLLECTORS' ART

This exciting exhibition features works by internationally known Pop artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol and widely acclaimed Montana artists Rudy Autio, Lela Autio, Tu Baixiong, Nancy Erickson, and Beth Lo. MMAC is grateful to generous private collectors who are lending works for this exhibition. The exhibition sheds light on the art of collecting. Meloy Gallery

 

40 YEARS OF CAMPUS ART AWARDS

Featuring student works from MMAC's Permanent Collection acquired from the mid 1960s through 2006. On view will be prints, paintings, and ceramics by fourteen former UM Art Department students including Neil Parsons, Ben Malouf, Blair Clemo, and Leonard Stach. Paxson Gallery

MMAC PERMANENT COLLECTION WORK TO JOIN TRAVELING EXHIBITION IN CHINA

MMAC is lending Bright & Early, an oil painting by Missoula artist and UM alum Stephanie J. Frostad, to join the traveling exhibition Out West: The Great American Landscape, organized by the Meridian International Center in Washington D.C. This exhibition includes 68 works by 50 American artists whose work depicts the land in the American West. The exhibition completes a U.S.- China cultural exchange begun with the exhibit, Ancient Threads, Newly Woven: Recent Art from China's Silk Road, which appeared at MMAC in September, 2005 and is currently touring the U.S. The exhibit will tour through China beginning March, 2007 in Beijing and will travel to cities located in the Silk Road region, including Urumqi, Xi'an, and Shanghai.

 


MMAC to Benefit from 4th Annual Collectors' Resale Exhibition at Dana Gallery

Collectors are invited to submit work for consideration in this juried exhibition, which runs from February 2 - 24, 2007. Those interested in consigning work from their collections for resale can bring artworks to the Dana Gallery by January 25, 2007 for consideration. 10% of the proceeds from all sales will benefit the Montana Museum of Art & Culture.
