Everyday Objects in Art: Highlighting selections from MMAC's Permanent Collection, this exhibition features works that utilize found objects as material and subject. These works reflect developments in modern art originating with Marcel Duchamp's 'readymades' to assemblage to contemporary trends that blur the boundaries between art and life. Included are works by Kendra Bayer, Stephen Glueckert, Dyna Kuehnle, Cathryn Mallory and more. |

Willem de Kooning, Untitled I November 2, 2007 - February 8, 2008 President's Office Lobby, Main Hall MMAC is pleased to announce a 6th major art loan from an anonymous collector. Untitled I, by Abstract Expressionist master Willem de Kooning is now available for public viewing in the UM President's Office Lobby. Willem de Kooning (1904 -1997) had a long and productive life. Untitled I, produced when he was 75 years old, uses fragmented forms of a landscape reassembled by his creative use of color and composition offset by lush, active brushstrokes. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm |

MMAC is excited to announce that we will receive two more major art loans from a private collection, to be placed on view in the Mansfield Library Lobby and the UM President's Office Lobby.
Colonne de reêve by Jean Arp (1886 - 1966), and White Relief by Ben Nicholson, O.M.(1894 - 1982) will arrive in the coming weeks and will be available for public viewing through March, 2008. Watch the MMAC website for more information.

Mark your calendar for a special arts focused City Club Forum. MMAC director Barbara Koostra will explore the intrinsic value of art through a look at MMAC's permanent collection and will share fascinating stories from the collection's more than 10,000 treasures. Tom Benson, director of the Missoula Cultural Council, will report the findings of a national study, Arts and Economic Prosperity III on the financial impact of art and culture in Missoula. December 21, 2007, 11:30am - 1pm You do not need to be a City Club member to attend, but reservations are required.
