TWO EVENTS DRAW DIVERSE AUDIENCES |
|||
John Villarino, Rembrandt Collector, |
Audiences were treated to two special events April 15 and April 22. On April 15, John Villarino, owner of the Rembrandt collection currently on view, attended Professor Valerie Hedquist's compelling lecture, "The Place of the Beggar in Dutch Society and Art." A construction coordinator for dozens of Hollywood films, Mr. Villarino discussed his collection after Valerie's presentation. The event drew a full house with dozens more turned away at the door. By popular demand, Professor Hedquist presented her lecture again on April 22 ahead of the 7pm panel discussion with Minkie Medora, Maxine Jacobson, and Aaron Brock entitled, "Hunger and Poverty at Home: Current Reality in Missoula and Montana." The panelists shed light on the growing need for sustainable solutions to contemporary issues of hunger and poverty. |
