Untitled I by Abstract Expressionist master
Willem de Kooning (1904 - 1997) is on view in the UM President's Office Lobby through February 8, 2008.

De Kooning immigrated to New York City from the Netherlands in 1926 and became involved with the city's avant-garde artists. He was well known for his role in founding the Abstract Expressionist movement. Untitled I displays his lush brushwork, vibrant color and a fragmented composition suggestive of representational form.
