SENIOR RECOGNITION
The President’s Outstanding Senior Recognition Awards are sponsored annually by the UM Penetralia Chapter of Mortar Board. This Senior Recognition Award is presented to outstanding graduating seniors in academic areas and University-recognized organizations. Students are chosen on the basis of academic performance in addition to devotion to the excellence of their departments and The University of Montana. One senior from each department and each organization will be honored with an engraved medallion and award certificate at the ceremony held traditionally on the Friday before Commencement.
Students are nominated by their department or ASUM-recognized organization in the spring based on the following criteria:
1) The student must graduate within the 2011-2012 academic year. (Graduation papers filed covering the Fall 2011-Summer 2012 year) Note: Fall 2012 meets next year’s criteria.
2) The student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3) The student must demonstrate a commitment to his or her academic discipline or student organization through professional development, leadership and service.
Applications for nominations are available now. The submission deadline is Friday, March 23. THE SENIOR RECOGNITION CEREMONY will be held on MAY 11 at 1:00 PM in the UNIVERSITY THEATER.
